Family Fun for Spokane Visitors | Late-Summer 2014

It’s not too late for a day at the ballpark. The future big-league stars of the Spokane Indians continue to draw baseball fans to Avista Stadium in Spokane, as they compete in Minor League Baseball’s Northwest League North division. Don’t miss the last home game of the 2014 season on August 29th, when the Indians host the Salem-Kaiser Volcanoes for one last hurrah.

Now through December 20th, Super Saturdays at the MAC provide families with educational fun, the third Saturday of each month. The Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture invites visitors of all ages to become immersed in interactive experiences centered on family arts, music, and history from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Foodies and families fill Riverfront Park from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., August 27th through September 1st, for Pig Out in the Park 2014. Sample the offerings of 47 different food vendors while enjoying the music of over 100 live performers. The festivities also include beer gardens and arts and crafts booths.

The family fun continues, September 5th through 14th, at the 2014 Spokane County Interstate Fair. Held at Spokane County Fair & Expo Center, the annual event is one of Spokane’s largest, complete with livestock exhibitions, midway rides and games, fried food, live entertainment and more.

There’s something for just about everyone at Valleyfest 2014. Centerplace Regional Event Center and Mirabeau Point Park are set to welcome visitors from Liberty Lake, Ritzville, and beyond for a huge variety of free, family-friendly activities, September 19th through 21st. Bask in beautiful, early-fall weather, taste the flavors of a wide local food and beverage selection, marvel at the hot air balloon show, or boat, bike, and run in the triathlon – There’s no better way to spend a weekend in Spokane.
