A must for history buffs, the Fort Walla Walla Museum in eastern Washington houses a wonderful collection of over 43,000 artifacts.

Stroll through the museum to view the photographs, exhibits, displays, and galleries, showcasing Walla Walla's pioneer lineage from the 1880s. The pioneer demonstrations and touring the 17-building settlement provide a fun way to learn about the past.

The "Cradle of Northwest History" heritage continues to be preserved at the museum. Schedule time during your visit to attend one of the classes, special events, outreach programs, and presentations. Children enjoy the kids' programs, too.

Walla Walla Regional Airport

Covering 2,319 acres, the Walla Walla Regional Airport (ALW) is a public airpark serving the city of Walla Walla and other cities in southeastern Washington.

Owned by the Port of Walla Walla, ALW features three runways, and is also home to the Walla Walla Army Air Base. ALW is used primarily for general aviation, and is serviced commercially by Alaska Airlines.

Whitman Mission National Historic Site

Found near the southeastern Washington town of Walla Walla, the Whitman Mission National Historic Site preserves the scene of the Whitman Mission at Waiilatpu. After tragic yet historic events took place at the mission in the mid 1800s, the site was named a National Historic Site in 1963 in memorial.

Today, the site houses a visitor center, small museum, and the gravesites of Marcus and Narcissa Whitman. Visitors can also view the Whitman memorial obelisk and the original Whitman Mission site while taking in one of the frequent Ranger Programs.
