SPRINGTIME IN EASTERN WASHINGTON
Travel Tips for Eastern Washington Visitors | Spring 2016
The Evergreen State's eastern reaches are most active during the springtime. From the urban amenities of Spokane and Tri-Cities communities like Pasco and Kennewick to more rural respites like Dayton and Ritzville, all sorts of family-friendly fun awaits. Outdoor activities, seasonal festivals, and one-of-a-kind attractions at their most inviting – this is the time to experience eastern Washington.
Spokane visitors won't have trouble finding plenty to see and do this time of year. Spring’s warm weather means it’s time to get back on the green, and Spokane is home to numerous first-rate facilities like Indian Canyon Golf Course. After you work up a good thirst, why not cool off with a cold one at NoLi Brewhouse?

History buffs won’t want to miss a chance to check out Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture, and the Spokane Arena promises a little something for everyone in the family this season. Highlights include an appearance by comedian Jeff Dunham on April 8th, 5 Seconds of Summer in concert on August 30th, and Spokane Empire arena football action all summer long.
Basketball players of all ages and skill levels travel from as far as Walla Walla, Prosser, and beyond to be a part of Spokane's Hoopfest 2016, the nation’s largest 3-on-3-basketball tournament, June 25th and 26th. The competition takes over the entire downtown area, with several streets closed down to host the games.
Start summer off right in Colfax by bringing the family out to the 2016 Concrete River Festival. This year's edition of the annual local favorite is complete with roller derbies, hot rods, pool parties, arts and crafts, the Concrete River Color Run, and more in venues throughout downtown Colfax, July 7th through 9th.
Ephrata sees an influx of music lovers on July 15th and 16th. That's when Basin Summer Sounds 2016, known as “the Best Free Music Festival in the Northwest,” brings performances by local and national music acts, the Car & Toy Show and Shine, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, and an array of local food offerings to the downtown area.
Celebrate the spirit of summer in Ephrata by being a part of the 2016 Sage-n-Sun Family Festival, August 5th through 7th. It's fun for the whole family, with a farmers’ market, the Lions Fun Run, activities just for kids, the Babe Ruth World Series of Baseball, and three days of live music and entertainment.
